PRISMA

Through Wall Radar

Law enforcement only

PRISMA is based on a technology which uses radio waves of the UWB (ultra wide band) radar system and can reproduce three dimensional images of movements behind a wall, up to twenty meters far away. The reproduced images are similar to those obtained by ultrasound scans, with a quite precise resolution.

This invention can be applied not only to military purposes, saving lives of soldiers engaged in anti-terrorism actions in urban environment, but also in the battle against crime, for instance in the search of kidnapped people, and for civil purposes, in the search for survivors after a natural disaster.

When it comes to saving people in a collapsed or burning building the time factor is essential. Often the rescue squads have to spend plenty time and energy to move the debris, or risk their lives among fire without being sure whether there are lives to save behind the walls.

Art. Code: PRISMA

    Characteristics:

  • Ability to detect 3D position of occupants to indicate standing, sitting or lying, going up/down stairs or on an upper floor.
  • Sensitivity to very small movements.
  • Location of multiple occupants.
  • Penetrates reinforced concrete
The system can be customized to meet particular user requirements, such as:

  • Stand off operation.
  • Extension in range.
  • Mounting on remote controlled vehicles.
  • Coordination of multiple PRISMA systems.
  • Wireless data transfer (standard or bespoke protocols).

PRISMA user side view interface showing range and height target location in 3 dimensions, through both plan/elevation views and a 3D perspective view which can be rotated. Operator actions remain simple, while Plan view textual information showing floor position includes co-ordinates and target signal strength.
