Though voice message recording is its main use, the Digital Voice Recorder Mini (Mini) can also play back the stored messages using the earphone or download the messages to a personal computer as standard sound files. The messages get recorded in a frequency band 300-­3400 Hz, in a flash-memory. The recording happens in "Stereo" mode on two channels simultaneously. This device uses external flash-memory: Smart Media cards of size up to 128 Mbytes; remaining types use a built-in flash-memory card.

Compact in size, the mini has varied maximum voice recording time depending on model - from 2.3 hour to 149 hour; and more time with enabled Voice Activation System - VAS).

The recorder has a sensitive built-in microphone with a range of up to 8 metres. The Mini is efficient in a wide range of temperatures, in conditions of jolting and dust content.

Along with the ear phones and adapter, the software package is capable of saving stored messages as standard sound files, program user interface of Mini, use Mini for storage and carriage of files from 16 up to 1024 Mbytes size.
